Books, would they say they are equals of the writers lives? Article Books, would they say they are equals of the writers lives? The account of Frankenstein is the principal enunciation of a womans experience of pregnancy and related feelings of dread. Mary Shelly, in the turn of events and training of the beast, examines kid improvement and instruction and how supporting of a caring guardian is critical in the ethical advancement of a person. In this way, in Frankenstein, Mary Shelley analyzes her own feelings of dread and considerations about pregnancy, labor, and youngster advancement; thus a connection among her and the novel is made. Pregnancy, labor, just as death, assumed an essential job in the youthful grown-up life of Mary Shelley. She mothered four youngsters an unnatural birth cycle that nearly lead to her demise, all before the age of twenty-five. Just one of her kids, Percy Florence, made due to adulthood and outlasted her. In June of 1816, when she had the waking bad dream, which turned into the impetus of the story, she was just nineteen and had just had her initial two kids. Her first kid, Clara, was conceived rashly February 22, 1815 and kicked the bucket March 6. Mary, as any lady would be, was crushed by this and set aside a long effort to recuperate. Mary What is instructive and destroying about this letter is that Mary went to Hogg since Percy was so unsupportive. All things considered Percy didnt truly appear to mind that the youngster was dead and even went out with Claire, disregarding Mary to endure in her distress. William, Marys second kid, was conceived January 24, 1816. William kicked the bucket of intestinal sickness June7, 1819. In this manner, at the time that Mary considered the story, her first youngster had kicked the bucket and her second was just a half year old. There is no uncertainty that she expected to be pregnant again and around a half year later she was. Pregnancy and kid raising was at the cutting edge of Marys mind now in her life. Frankenstein is most likely the primary story in Western writing the communicates the tensions of pregnancy. Clearly male journalists evaded this theme and it was viewed as no-no and in poor preference for a lady to talk about it. Marys center around the birth procedure permitted men to comprehend female feelings of dread about pregnancy and consoled ladies that they were not the only one with their tensions. The tale communicates Marys most profound apprehensions; What if my kid is brought into the world distorted? Might I be able to even now cherish it or would I wish it were dead? Consider the possibility that I cannot cherish my kid. Am I equipped for bringing up a sound, ordinary youngster? Will my kid pass on? Would I be able to wish my own youngster to kick the bucket? Will my kid execute me in labor? Mary was communicating her feelings of trepidation identified with the passing of her first youngster, her capacity to support, and the way that her mom kicked the bucket having her. The entirety of this is communicated in Victor Frankensteins complete disappointment in child rearing. For around nine months Victor Frankenstein worked on the formation of his youngster. .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .postImageUrl , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .focused content territory { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:hover , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:visited , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:active { border:0!important; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; obscurity: 1; progress: haziness 250ms; webkit-change: mistiness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:active , .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:hover { darkness: 1; progress: murkiness 250ms; webkit-change: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .focused content region { width: 100%; position: rela tive; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-enhancement: underline; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: striking; line-stature: 26px; moz-fringe range: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-embellishment: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .ue630f48ff36d 93f55851c6b02c906499 .focused content { show: table; stature: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .ue630f48ff36d93f55851c6b02c906499:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Detective spine chiller EssayFinally on a horrid night in November: he observes the birth: I saw the dull yellow eye of the animal open; it inhaled hard, and a convulsive movement unsettled its appendages. Frankenstein pg. 51 Instead of contacting his kid, Victor surges out of the room nauseated by the irregularity of his creation. At the point when the animal trails him, Victor flees with dismay totally surrendering his kid. While making his kid, Victor never thought about whether this animal would even need to exist. He likewise didnt take enough consideration with the animals appearance. He was unable to set aside the effort to make little parts so he made a being of monstrous size. Victor never thought about how such an animal would have the option to exist with individuals. He didn't require some investment with the highlights either and made a being with an appalling appearance. Incapable to acknowledge his creation, Victor surrenders his kid and all parental obligation. He even wishes that his youngster were dead. I snapped my teeth, my eyes got aggravated, and I enthusiastically wished to douse that life which I has so neglectfully gave pg. 87 The animal, himself, understands that a kid that is denied of a caring family turns into a beast. The animal more than once demands that he was brought into the world great yet constrained by others to do underhanded. Mary Shelley bases this contention in Rousseaus Emile and Second Discourse. Marys record of the animals mental and moral improvement follow the speculations of David Hartley and John Locke. Mary Shelley read Rousseaus Emile in 1816. Rousseau expressed that: God makes everything great; man interferes with them and they become malicious. Rousseau explicitly ascribed moral failings to the absence of a moms love. Without mothering and caring training a man left to himself from birth would be to a greater extent a beast that the rest. In this way, Mary Shelley is proposing that a dismissed and unmothered youngster can turn into an executioner, particularly its very own enemy family. There is certainly a solid connection between the books plot and the occasions of Mary Shellys life. Composing this novel may have been a method of managing the agony that would have tormented for extensive times of her life. The most grounded joins are: Birth Death Rejection

Audit Engagement Essay examples -- essays research papers

Subject: Assessment of Exton Industries, Inc. Dear Ms. Johnson:      I have as of late audited the Control Environment Questionnaire for Exton Industries, Inc. In the wake of assessing the proof gathered by our staff part, I have thought of an appraisal of the extortion dangers. From the proof assembled, I have presumed that Exton Industries has a feeble control condition. In general, it won't work superbly of forestalling false exercises.      While assessing Exton Industries, I needed to consider how the control condition would forestall misquotes emerging from misappropriation of benefits and deceitful monetary detailing.      The controller, CFO, and CEO audit every single money related report before discharging them. Another region to consider was the task of power and duty. Since three distinct individuals survey the monetary reports, it’s simpler to recognize any mix-ups that may have been made which thus diminishes the odds of misappropriation in deceitful announcing. Through discussion with workers it was noticed that legitimate obligation and appointment of power were doled out and the best possible data seemed, by all accounts, to be considered in creating duties. Composed sets of expectations and measures likewise exist. Since appropriate obligation and designation of power and composed sets of responsibilities and guidelines exist the, the odds of false exercises are diminished. Different issues to consider were management’s responsibility to fitness and human asset approaches and methodology. During the recruiting procedure, the board ensures the potential worker has the correct information and aptitudes to do the activity enough. After recruiting, the new representative is made mindful of their duties and management’s desires for them. What's more chiefs lead yearly audits. The company’s past progress likewise shows that workers have the necessary abilities and information. Conversations with representatives showed that they are caused mindful of the outcomes on the off chance that they to perform inadequately and additionally don't satisfy their obligations. Exton Industries has compelling controls in their responsibility to skill and human asset department’s recruiting and audit process. In general, the control condition of the directorate and review advisory group will p... ...ast year a few workers have left without prior warning there has been trouble in holding key faculty. The new supervisory group is most likely stressed over getting benefits up and by utilizing a forceful methodology there might be more mistakes on the grounds that budget summaries may not checked as altogether. The reason for the high turnover rate ought to be examined, workers might be leaving since others are submitting deceitful conduct and they would prefer not to get included. The executives might be empowering this or may not see it since they are too stressed over making the organization look beneficial. Ultimately, there were disappointments to ensure important resources, which could prompt misappropriation of advantages. All in all, I found that Exton Industries has some interior controls that will forestall fake monetary announcing and misappropriation of advantages in any case, they are missing compelling inward controls too. Because of Exton Industries having frail inside controls, control hazard is expanded and the review group should pick higher control chance systems. On the off chance that controls in the territories lacking are not improved the control condition will neglect to ensure future fake acts.

The politics of globalization of Brazil Essay Example for Free

The legislative issues of globalization of Brazil Essay The world, which began as clans trading deals as exchange, entered a cutting edge situation, and bargain before long transformed into trade of gold and afterward in the end money. With the timeframe, the modest exchange changed into universal arrangements, and which in the long run began the time of globalization. The time of globalization brought the world close, and the exchange that appeared to be greatly separated as a result of the unit of landmasses, began beginning on regular schedule, and each spot on the planet has now gotten reachable in hours. â€Å"Brazil†, one of the feature of Latin America, has it portion of mayhem and disarray, however in the end with the course of time, it has dwindled itself in the shades of globalization. Brazil has had an inconvenient past, and after the pilgrim government, the military sneaked in prompting various upsets, which brought about mass demolitions and befuddling of the economy. It has been just three decades since there has been appropriate system that has been administering the nation, and has been giving a stage to business and exchange to thrive in the country. Brazil with proper method of time has joined the trillion dollar economy, and is getting down to business to happen to the main economies of the world. With its proper method of time, Brazil quietly has sneaked in the rundown of huge economies, and right now it remains as the eight biggest economy of the world. Brazil since the mid 90’s began quickening its possibilities by rampage spending into the world economy and opening its tremendous market to the world. Brazil’s unexpected importance to the world market made it passage into the G-20 and furthermore into associations like ‘Mercosur’ Globalization is simply not one colossal universal exchange reasonable any longer, and it has a ton of governmental issues included. The degree of governmental issues in globalization has various aspects and various markers, and every nation with the measure of its qualities and shortcoming are weighed into the legislative issues of globalization. The features of governmental issues of globalizations is best clarified, when it is uncovered that it is not a lot than outrage of individuals in the immature nations of the world, of what they are seeing as the uncalled for conveyance of riches, instruction and assets and the expansion in the holes of the individuals falling into classifications of haves and those who lack wealth (Gail S. Schoettler, P. 1). The legislative issues of globalization of any country can be best comprehended based on import restrictions forced by that specific country. On account of Brazil, it has a major issue with vehicle being imported, as it needs to ensure its tremendous car advertise, which is obvious from the way that in the year 2005 Brazil made mutiple. 65 million vehicles just for its residential utilization (Elisangela Cordeiro). Brazil doesn’t need vehicles to be imported in the nation as it can genuinely harm its own one of a kind market, representing a danger to its own economy, as car is one of the greatest assembling segments in the nation of Brazil, and on the off chance that the boycott is lifted for bringing in autos from different countries, at that point it can have a few negative effects on the Brazilian economy just as Brazilian work power. Then again Brazil keeps up sort of a restraining infrastructure, with regards to its fares, as Brazil should be the main exporter of espresso, sugar, hamburger and squeezed orange. Brazil’s best case of playing the legislative issues of globalization game, is by understanding the reality, that when the entire world, is attempting to force bans on the creation goliath China over the hazardous toys loaded up with lead content, which even incorporates the World Trade Organization, Brazil has no issue with the dangerous toy and Brazil’s represetative to China has even offered remarks transparently like â€Å" It’s important to stay away from shortsighted arrangements, such as supporting protectionism, which is an insufficient device in a globalize world† (Luis Augusto de Castro Neves, Reuters). The purpose behind this sort of demeanor towards China is on the grounds that Brazil has a gigantic market as China for its iron metal and its soybeans creation. This twofold standard of Brazil as well as practically all countries in the realm of forcing forbiddances for imports, yet need facilitated commerce situations for sends out, show the profundity of governmental issues of globalization. Brazil on a worldwide scene is moving towards enormous figures as far as exchange, and it was assessed in the year 2005 that inside a range of four years, Brazil had figured out how to twofold its fares from US$58 billion of every 2001 to an incredible US$118 billion and inside the equivalent evaluated period, Brazil has figured out how to check its import requires and has figured out how to control imports from the remainder of the world, in their blasting economy, and have had the option to oversee import increment by just 30%, from US$56 billion to US$74 billion. Brazil has been taking the fierceness of the United States of America as far as its exchange strategies and import preclusions, however again the legislative issues of globalization can be seen from the way that how much ever the tiff between these two nations over organized commerce, America best the rundown in the two portions of exchange, I. e. import just as fare from Brazil. The nation evidently is effectively engaged with its creations and assembling qualities, particularly of autos, airplanes, materials and footwear. Essentially the degree of globalization is altogether different of that of an optimist, and now every nation is just attempting to secure its inclinations and really has no respects for its effect hard mentality towards different nations. Brazil in a general sense flourishing with its rural economy needs to endure in light of the contentions over homestead appropriations and rural levies from the United States of America and other European nations. Brazil believes itself to be one of the creating nations and attempts to associate with other creating countries based on restraining infrastructure of the created countries, be it based on horticultural taxes or import preclusions. Brazil how much ever shows its contradiction for the approaches of the west, it attempts to mobilize itself for exchange to all the created country, and there is a gigantic lip service, with regards to exchange, as both Brazil and the created nations, how much ever can't help contradicting each other’s strategies, however both will be on one rundown of top imports and fares. Brazil however being a piece of the G-20 and Mercosur, was rarely effectively included, yet with intermittent exchanging coordination, Brazil has begun taking dynamic part in these organizations starting at now, and it was seen that brazil has been taking an interest in infusing a new rent and driving the go up against from Mercosur on the lines of boosting exchange, making occupations and decreasing destitution in Latin America. Brazil with every one of its highs and lows, is causing a unique spot in this to globalize world, however how much ever erratic is the whole exchanging situation, Brazil is set to cut a specialty in middle of all the legislative issues, that the world brings to the table in universal exchange. Paulo Freires Social Justice Idea - Free Essay Example

Introduction Paulo Freires idea of learning for social justice has influenced many academic disciplines and has remained an inspiration to many across the world. This Brazilian educator has been revolutionary in his ideas of education for justice and he has left a significant mark on thinking progressive practices in education. Paulo Freires Pedagogy of the Oppressed is one of the most quoted educational text worldwide, through which he was able to weave together educational practices and liberation. He explained the deep theory and practice of liberatory education around the globe and relates the education to broader social movements to fight for humanity and liberation. Purpose of education is mainly concerned with literacy so that these educated people can make their own arguments by weighing different perspectives. So, the literacy would help men and women to overcome their sense of powerlessness and thus develop agency. They can tranform their situation relating to any problem in life by thinking critically about reality and then taking action. Freires theory relates this to overcome oppression by appropriate education and thinking critically. This oppression can be any problem associated with social, political and economical context of a persons life. To become such kind of literate we have to make our education system to support such transformation. According to Freire, education system played a central role in maintaining oppression and it need to be reformed in order for things to change for thewho suffered. Teachers who wants to change the world need to engage students in doing same as its the co-participation of both teachers and students in justice struggle. Teachers must be open with their views, but never impose them on students and give the right to students to have their own ideas, but also must have mutual respect for each others ideas. Key components and strategies of learning for justice theory: these key components of learning for justice will provide the insight of the whole process to impove existing teaching policies and strategies in padagogy. 1.Banking education Banking education framewrok explains the existing framework for curriculum delivery, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor where the teacher makes deposits which the students patiently receive, memorize, and repeat. In this type of educational system, students are listening objects, are not asked to think critically about the world in which they live. They are merely asked to swallow information. This banking education allows the oppressors (policy makers, curriculum designers) to maintain the system of oppression, which minimize students creative power and to stimulate their credulity to serve the interests of the oppressors in which students do not have the opportunity to question or critically evaluate the world in which they live and thus have no opportunity to change their lives for the better. Alternative to banking education which Freire proposed as is the liberating education or questioning education. Liberating education involves a proce ss of humanizing people who have been oppressed, which can be related to todays school system to empower students to question education. It also empowers them to question their lives and their position in society. They will become more fully human and would know how to fight dehumanization which involves the injustice, exploitation and oppression etc. 2. Culture Cycle Freire took the education out of traditional (four wall) classroom, where students and teacher together discuss themes that have significance within the context of students lives. These themes should be discovered through the cooperative research of educator and student. These themes are related to nature, culture, work, and relationships and can be discovered by making connections with students and knowing their background and interests. These themes are then represented in the form of visual representations then students decode these themes and they recognize them as situations in which they themselves are involved as subjects. This process will engage them in critical consiousness. For example Gutstein, enhanced the coursework with the project in which students investigated racism and using mathematics as a key analytical tool, which emphasis on relating these themes to official curriculum by finding connections. The themes like racism, discrimination, gender, sex, can be taught i n classroom settings. 3. Generative themes and codifications Generative (capacity to unfold further to generate many themes) theme should be interested to students, which evoke importance or concern to them, so that discussion can be generated. The themes should be represented in the form of codification (either represented by a word or short phrase or a visual representation a picture or photograph). These codifications would make students explore these themes critically by regarding them objectively rather than simply experiencing them. System of codifications has been very successful in promoting literacy among adult students, Freire always emphasized that it should not be approached mechanically, but rather as a process of creation and awakening of consciousnes with which they decode the aspects of situation by feeling themselves in the situation and be able to reflect critically upon its various aspects. The activism can be applied by using approach of codifications, in which students would deal with a problem by feeling themselves in th at situation. For example themes like Raising social consciousness: prejudices and employment, Quality of life: consciousness and participation, Housing: urbanization and values, Cohabitation and violence. These themes with concrete representations of ideas, hopes, outlooks and challenges arising out of human beings orientations to the world will provide a certain view of viewing the world to the students. This practice is suggested to replace traditional method where teacher choose the program content and students adapt to it. 4. Praxis Freires concept of praxis in education is related to action research: a process where a group works together through cycles of action, reflection and further action to improve a situation. Freirean praxis assumes that education is political, so the practice of education must be informed by praxis learning begins with action is then shaped by reflection, which gives rise to further action. In order to transform the world, reflection and action are inseparable, you cannot act without thinking and reflection without action will not change reality. Which is required to replace the existing policy of teacher talks and student listens.

According to Merriam-Webster, anorexia is defined as, â€Å"A serious physical and emotional illness in which an abnormal fear of being fat leads to very poor eating habits and dangerous weight loss† (Anorexia, Merriam-Webster). Or in other words, those who suffer from anorexia have a fear of being fat, so they consume little to no food. The Driving Hormone Controlled From The Pituitary Gland

Testosterone, a key element in the genetic makeup of all human beings. The driving hormone controlled from the pituitary gland. This hormone dictates the sex drive of the male human being. However, this hormone also leads people to believe that males should act and be a certain way. The concept of hegemonic masculinity, where hegemonic is defined as ruling or dominant in a social class, and masculinity is defined as possession of the qualities traditionally associated with men (Morettini, 2016). It originated with concepts such as masculine fundamentalism, which was a form of promoting dominance of a man in a household of married men (Frances Ester, 2013, p. 143). Relevance of Intellectual Capital Research †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Relevance of Intellectual Capital Research. Answer: Introduction Uber Corporation is a company that started in the year 2009. Its headquarters are in San Francisco, California. The company operates worldwide in more than 570 cities spread across the globe. The company has specialized in development, marketing and operation of the mobile apps. These apps are the Uber Car transportation and food delivery mobile apps. People with cars; whether rented or personally owned can join and use Uber apps. Drivers use smartphones to connect with taxi customers who are also required to have smartphones or access to the mobile website. The company is, therefore, able to manage its operation using technological innovation (Barrett Sean, 2010). Innovation refers to the process of creatively generating new ideas that can be translated into the value which customers can pay for because it satisfies their particular need. Entrepreneurship refers to the course of applying through putting the innovative ideas into practice (Gassmann et al., 2010). This involves the company's willingness to invest in the notion and also acceptance and management of its associated risks. Nowadays, Innovation and entrepreneurship are considered to be the change driver, because business process change in many companies is mostly geared by the innovation and entrepreneurship (Christensen et al., 2015). Knowledge management entails all aspects of information in the organization. It covers information creation, movement, and its general use. This concept focusses on the various ways in which companies generate, share and utilize the information to act as a gear towards achieving their business objectives. It also covers the aspects of knowledge transition on how knowledge can be passed from those people exiting the company to those joining the organization. This helps mentor and build individuals who later become resourceful to the team (Booker et al., 2008). Governance refers to the established processes, rules, systems and the policies which are used to guide and control a given company. It, therefore, defines the way a given organization is lead. The organizations governance usually exists in two categories. Firstly, there is an internal aspect which constitutes the company policies and the ruling Constitution among others. Secondly, there is the external aspect which is made up of the government laws, existing regulations in the area of operation, the expectations of the community where the business is operating among others (Clarke, 2007). Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Uber Corporation Uber has shown a lot of efforts to adopt change for sustainability.Innovation entails coming up with new ways of doing business, coming up with lucrative ideas and their application. Uber was founded and is sustained by technological innovation. It has demonstrated its entrepreneurship through its acceptance to manage the risks that are associated with the implementation of the innovative ideas. The company is trying to implement and promote innovation by incorporating it into the organizations culture. These efforts have helped Uber to improve on its production and also in gaining the competitive advantage (Oke, 2007). Innovation and entrepreneurship have been a fundamental aspect driver in the business operation of Uber. It has shown a lot of efforts in adopting change and it runs on the technological innovation which has helped it to grow fast since the time of its establishment in the year 2009. Through, entrepreneurial spirit, the company has invested a lot of money and other resources into innovation. Through innovation, Uber has managed to improve on the brand strength by improving brand reach to its customers in the whole world. This has made it get a higher market ratio because many people at different places can access and use the Uber services (Kosoff, 2015). Besides improving the brand reach, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Uber have also helped it to make more profit. The company develops and manages two mobile applications where customers can access the services from wherever they are, and it is not a must for clients to come to the office in person. It is always convenient for customers to get a self-service, and Uber has achieved this. This has increased the client's number using the services because the technological innovation has made possible for them to get served from wherever they are. This is convenient for customers, saves them time, cost, and other also delivers them value (Dahlan Gann, 2010). It is evident that implementation of innovative ideas prone the organization to losses before the notion become successful. Innovation may require a lot of capital, resources and other massive inputs and thus the company will incur losses in case the implementation of the idea is not successful. Therefore, Uber needs to have an established system that can be applied to the potential risks through identification, controlling and solving of the bad events that may happen (Enkel et al., 2009). This is important and will help the company to gain more out of innovation. Uber Corporation has acquired a lot of technological innovation. The benefits have helped the company to move to the top in the transportation industry. Innovation and entrepreneurship have helped it to gain the more competitive advantage over other businesses in the transportation industry. Nowadays, innovation is the power for success in any industry, and it is, therefore, true that innovation plays a critical role in the profitability of the organization and the general sustainability of this company. Therefore, Uber should continue embracing change for it is a guarantee to growth. Domestic contextual factors Government regulations affect business in many ways. The policies and regulations of different countries always affect the businesses that operate in those countries. Some laws restrict certain activities that could be profitable to the organization such as those that mainly inhibit implementation of some creative ideas that seems lucrative to the organization. It is, therefore, important for Uber to ensure that it implements only strategies that are in line with the laws, policies, and regulations of the country of operation. This reduces the conflict in the business process that may arise when the company carries out its activities. Businesses operating in a given country are significantly impacted by the state of infrastructure in that country. A nation that has good roads, electricity and telecommunication systems will help businesses to carry swiftly thus more profitability. Roads help for quicker better movement of various aspects of production. A better telecommunication system in the country facilitates easier business information sharing thus improved productivity. It is, therefore, true that poor infrastructure hinders the productivity of the country while better one promotes performance (Lichtenthaler, 2011). Businesses operate at the mercy of the political state in the country of operation. A stable political state will help the business to operate normally according to their plan. On the hand, if the political situation of the country is not stable, the proper operation of the firm is interrupted. Thus they can't realize the expected profit due to reduced productivity. In extreme cases of political instability, some businesses are forced to close down. This, therefore, shows that the innovation and entrepreneurship or the general productivity of Uber is substantially determined by the political state of the country in operation (Midgley, 2010). International contextual factors People at different places have different beliefs and values which influence the business process in various ways. Some cultures advocate for particular products and services while others may be of the same. This affects the type of the goods and services consumed and their general purchase habits. If not well considered, companies may run to a loss. Thus, they need to understand the culture of their consumers to ensure that the products or services produced satisfy their demands and expectations (James Szeman, 2010). Some of the legal factors include ownership rights, rewarding systems, tax laws, business registration processes among others. These factors affect the business in many different ways. Business organizations must operate within the existing legal rules for their smooth running. Some legal factors may appear discriminating to the company, tending to restrict the business from certain activities yet allowing others. It should, therefore, come up with the strategies to comply with the legal system in place (Barry et al., 2017). World economic state affects the business in many ways; better state affects the business positively while bad state affects it negatively. Some of the economic factors include the labor conditions, inflation, cost of living and the cost of production among many others. Innovation and entrepreneurship in a given company are directly affected by the world economic state. Businesses enterprises make the profit when the financial condition of the world is right, for when there is no inflation, the cost of production is lower among others, but on the other hand, they make the lower profit when these factors of economic conditions have changed negatively (Chaudhry et al., 2007). Conclusion In conclusion, every business should embrace innovation and entrepreneurship culture. This can be implemented through strategic directions that accommodate innovative culture because the best way to adopt it is through organizations incorporation into their corporate culture. Innovation is nowadays a change driver, and it gives businesses a competitive advantage. Also, various factors affect the innovation and entrepreneurial culture of a given organization. These factors are categorized as internal factors such as the political state of the country, government regulations, and the infrastructure or may be international factors such as the legal issues, cultural factors, and the world economic state. All these factors have different effects on the business, and therefore it needs to come up with strategic plans that ensure they successfully ensure that these aspects work for them. 10 Facts on Health Economics for a Presentation

10 Facts on Health Economics for a Presentation Health Economics is one of the interesting topics to study. It is defined as the branch of economics concerned with issues related to the effectiveness, efficiency, value and behavior in producing and consuming, health and healthcare. Due to its broad scope, your instructor may ask you to create a presentation on a related topic of your choice. You can always check our 20 topics on health economics for a presentation to find a topic that best suits you or you can scroll down to check the following ten facts for inspiration. There is a current debate as to whether healthcare is a want or need. Health care becomes a want depending upon one very important factor, which is if a person is either earning handsomely or just the bare minimum. If a person is earning generously, they will try to avoid going through pain and discomfort using any means possible. On the other hand, those earning less will try to avoid expensive health care in any way possible. However, health care becomes a necessity for people who are aging, especially those living on their own. Health economics is a way to improve existing health systems or create new structures altogether. A certain value can be added to the health system if each resource is allocated in a smart and efficient way. The reason why health economics needed an extra category under the umbrella of general economics is because health care takes a huge chunk out of a country’s economy. In the United States, health care is a huge concern as it consumes over 16 percent of the country’s GDP. As the population of USA increases every year, more people require health care services. Not only does this exponential growth of health care requirements affect the government budget, it also affects the profitability of private sectors. Health is generally considered to be one of the basic human rights by the World Health Organization. While this seems like a very accurate statement, economically attaining absolutely free health care system is a huge strain on a country’s economy. Once again, optimizing health economics is one of the most effective methods to minimize costs. Adverse Selection is a very basic principle that a student of health economics must learn. This is when either the buyer or the seller of health care insurance has prior information about each the other which they obscure from one another for personal benefit. In simpler terms, it is when the buyer of the policy hides key facts about their medical history or the seller unethically finds out information that will lead them towards rejecting applications of people whose medical history is costly. Basically, if the seller or the buyer manipulates asymmetrically acquired information in a way that it benefits them on account of the other party, this is considered to be adverse selection. Health care costs have skyrocketed in the United States and this has been a huge topic of discussion amongst many sectors. According to the Centers for Disease Control Prevention’s health statistics, health care costs have doubled since the year 2000 as it has grown from 1.2 trillion dollars to 2.3 trillion dollars. According to various national surveys, the cost of health insurance, out of pocket costs and national health expenses are rising as each year passes by. According to the CIA, the US stands at a surprisingly 43rd rank when it comes to life expectancy in the entire world. Similarly, it stands at a disappointing 167th position in the world in terms of infant mortality. A study also found out that the USA’s percentage of stopping preventable deaths is declining in great numbers as compared to the healthcare system of Japan and Australia. The size of the hospital affects the cost of treatment due to several very important reasons. A larger establishment can have a larger network of specialized medical units. This compartmentalization can lead to efficient treatment and, more importantly, extra throughput of treated patients. Through basic economics, the cost of treatment drops because the supply increases due to a larger efficient system. Moreover, a larger institute can afford to buy supplies in bulk quantities. All of this boils down to the ethical code of the hospital. To ensure that the system is not manipulated, medical establishments that create supply-monopoly and perform unnecessary treatments for profit can be held accountable and punished by the law if their misconduct is exposed. According to various studies, the supply of labor can be increased if there is improved healthcare provided. However, this has its side effects too. If the economic growth is incapable of withstanding the sudden influx of labor, there will be no profit in the per capita output. The results can actually be very devastating as the unemployment rate will increase. Generally speaking, health economics is not immune to the overall economic growth of the country. Therefore, if the healthcare system is improved in a poor society, it will have adverse effects such as rise in population, increase in poverty, and poor health of the population. If a balance is created between the overall economic growth and health economics, the results can be very opposite. Improved health of the employees can result in a substantial bump in the production efficiency and the cost per unit drops accordingly. If the overall health conditions of an area improve, that can also start housing projects as people will become more prosperous. A good health program increases the overall morale as well, motivating entrepreneurs to start small businesses. Health economics is an extremely important study because it is the very connection between the basic health and the resources required to sustain it. Resources do not just mean money, though; they can also be the amount of people, material and time. These resources are not infinite and, therefore, they need to be allocated and managed systematically. Free Essays on Christpher Columbus

. Christopher Columbus, an Italian sailor who today is known as one of America’s greatest heroes paved the way for many sailors in the late 1400’s to the early 1500’s. Columbus worked as a sailor most of his life and during these years he became an excellent map-reader. Columbus was convinced that he could find a third route to Asia by sailing west through the Atlantic Ocean. The only problem was that he had no financial backing and no ships. Columbus first tried to convince Portugal that he had found a new route, but they had no interest in his proposal. He then tried to convince various European Monarchs but still no one was interested. Columbus’s last hope lay with the rulers of Spain, Ferdinand and Isabella. Ferdinand and Isabella liked his idea of a new route but most importantly would do anything to gain some power back from the surging Portugal. In 1492, Spain provided Columbus with three ships named the Nina, Pinta, and The Santa Maria. Columbus set sail some time in the late summer of 1492 and reached a small island in what is now known as the Bahamas. Columbus thought he had reached an island near the Asian mainland so kept moving according to plan. He also explored what is now Cuba and Haiti. During his trip he had come across some Natives, which he called Indio’s. Columbus captured some of the so-called Indio’s and used them as proof that he had reached Asia. Upon returning, Columbus was praised, knighted and given the title Admiral of the Sea. During his exploration of Hispaniola (Haiti) Columbus documented that the natives were wearing gold earrings and cleverly built a fort and left some of his crew behind to search for these riches. The following year Columbus was sent out with a fleet of seven ships and 1500 men with strict instructions to start colonization and more importantly find the gold. Military training and indoctrination of children in palestinian Research Proposal

Military training and indoctrination of children in palestinian refugees camp in Lebanon - Research Proposal Example This has resulted in many underage children being drafted in the war without their wish as they are school going children. It is purported that the children especially of the Palestinian Refugee camps around the Lebanon have undergone military training and also have been indoctrinated and as such are participating in wars when they are very young. This research proposal, aims at exploring how the war has affected the children especially in the Palestinian Refugee camp and how the fact that children are recruited to fight is against the international criminal law. Internally, in the recent past the political violence has been very rampant in Lebanon. In 2007 September a parliamentarian who was very prominent, Antoine Ghanem and six others were killed in a car bomb that was part of a series of political assassination in Beirut and nobody claimed responsibility for the attack1. In another incident in 2007 was the fight between the government troops and the Fatah-al-Islam that was an armed group and they fought in the Nahr-al-Bared refugee camp for more than three months that ended when the army took control of the camp in September, 20072. The war itself around the refugee camp had resulted with more than 300 people including civilians’ dead. This and many other internal wars indicate the volatility of Lebanon as a country and the vulnerability of the country to be on the brink of war. In addition to the political violence there is a great polarization of the Lebanese society that revolves around the political parties that exist in the c ountry. The polarization is mostly divided along the religious and the communal line and it keeps on mounting (Byers 68). The democracy of the country is solely based on the delicate distribution of powers and institutions among the communities in Lebanon. This democracy is mostly very fragile with the cause being the parties keep on shifting their

Mini Motor Homes Manufactured Essay Example for Free

Mini Motor Homes Manufactured Essay This case is about Mini Motor Homes Manufactured by Jim Ballenger in Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to the case, Jim Ballenger has a problem to make a decision to change his current inventory system to JIT system. From the current inventory system, Jim has spent a lot of cost on his inventory system. This is because mostly of the component used in manufactured are bought from other vendor and his company actually only manufactured very few of it component. Because of this, the transportation and inventory cost contribute to a relatively large portion of its component part of expenses. Jim Ballenger was very aware on the cost that may arise once the JIT system adopted. The cost that he may be aware to arise is the cost of management standpoint, the shipment of the component and the rate of the component purchased. Besides that, he also has inquiry about the component purchased will be arrived on time or not or the duration taken of delivering the component. This is because, if the component are not suitable to use, his team has to replace it and it will entail expensive rush order for the replacement component or the downtime for the entire plant. Jim Ballenger also concern about his relationship with his suppliers. He thought that his supplier may difficult become one part of his team. Since the supplier will expect to have special effort on their quality control or delivery flexibility on behalf of one of its almost miniscule discount. Jim Ballenger has been rent a public warehouse near his plant to keep his inventory that cost $500,000 to $1,000,000, which he paid more than 1. 5% per month from the borrowed funds to buy it. Since he starts to producing the different model, and using so many different appliances, the cost of the safety stock increased day by day. The JIT presume table has drawn with two considerations. Since the major component, chassis can be purchased at one time basis from the local supplier and out of stock situation is hardly happen, thus this component has excluded from using JIT system. The two considerations will be (1) Ballenger’s inventory carrying costs of are assumed to be 20% per year on the average investment in inventory on hand comprising acquisition and transportation costs, (2) those components that can obtain from closer sources, one week of the safety stock is sustain, if the component is further form the stock, two weeks to one month of safety stock should be available.

Why Do Companies Spend Money On Computerized Systems? :: essays research papers

Starting in the late Twentieth Century, many companies started using computerized systems. Most of these companies started using these systems to save time and reduce costs. Even though these computerized systems are rather expensive, in the long run they saved companies money. The companies saved money by making or purchasing a computerized system by reducing paper usage and employee overtime. Since employees did not have to spend there time doing paper work, they could do their jobs faster and more efficiently. This gave the employees more time to do other projects around the office. One computerized system that saved employee’s time is automatic payroll. Instead of wasting time filling out paper time sheets, the employee could simply â€Å"clock† in at the beginning and end of each shift. Some companies like this idea because it can possibly reduce the number of employees needed in the payroll section of their company. Many aspects of the computerized system might take away some duties from the human employee. This can save the company a lot of money, but is very bad for employee morale.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Management also benefits from the computerized system. Management is able make decisions much faster because the information they needed to make these decisions with is right there and could easily be accessed. There is no searching for documents or other files. The company can easily give access to certain parts of the computerized system to one group in the company and not the other. This way, information is kept private or public, depending of the company needs.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  It is not always the case that the company’s employees and employers notice most of the benefits that a computerized system has.
